About Baradari

Baradari is the Urdu word, and if we divide its name into two parts, Bara and Dari, we can understand its entire architecture. The word Bara means Twelve, and Dari means Doors. That means it is the structure of Twelve doors. Interesting? Therefore, it is popularly known as Baradari or Bara Dari.
It is a white-marble large building, a kind of pavilion of twelve massive doors that allow the free-flow of fresh air. It is just adjacent to the lake of Ana Sagar and the glamorous green garden of Daulat Bagh. It was constructed at a very remarkable and important location. Therefore, it used to be the place for relaxation as well as for performing other pleasant activities for the king, as it is entirely situated in the middle of the two largest natural sites in the city.
Baradari was built by one of the greatest Mughal Emporer Shahjahan in the year 1637 AD. This structure not only reflects the rich historical past but also gives a glimpse of the royal and lavish life of the ruling king.
It was the place for the royal bath and various other pleasing activities like dance and music. One of the doors of this enormous structure was for addressing the audience by the king.
It was also used as a dwelling house by the Britishers. These were some historical importance of this place. However, it is very significant for the city in this modern age as well. Other than the history, its location makes it one of the most famous places in the city, because it is situated entirely between the two most visited and visible natural sites. While there, you can not only enjoy the greenery and a peaceful stroll in the Daulat Bagh garden but also you can hire a boat for boat riding in the lake of Ana Sagar. You can also enjoy an exquisite view of the sunset.

It is very easy to get the Ajmer by Bus, train, and air from anywhere in India.
By Bus - You can reach the Ajmer bus stand by bus, then either get an auto from there for Daulat Bagh garden or hire a taxi for the same or any other famous destination in the city.
By Train - The Ajmer Junction railway station connects the Ajmer to all major Indian cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, Allahabad, Kolkata, and Lucknow. You can either get local transport or hire a personal vehicle to reach anywhere in Ajmer.
By Flight - The Kishangarh Airport is the nearest where you can reach from some major Indian cities. After arriving there, you can either hire a taxi from there or get the bus to reach Ajmer. Then you can do the same as mentioned above.
Though local transport is also a good choice, hiring a taxi is the best option to visit every must-visit place in the city.

Ana Sagar Lake and Daulat Bagh - These are the nearest places because the Baradari is in the middle of both. Baradari gives you an opportunity to either enjoy the greenery of the Daulat Bagh or admire the lake of Ana Sagar. These all three present the combined view of the beauty of nature, which is so exquisite.
Bajrang Garh - It is situated on the top of the hill, which is just next to the lake of Ana Sagar. It is a temple of the Hindu god, Hanuman.
Must-visit places in Ajmer
Dargah Sharif - It is the most visited place in the city. A truly divine destination, dedicated to the Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisty. Though primarily it is a center of Islamic faith, people of all faith visit this place, from far and wide.
Adhai Din Ka Jhonpra - It is one of the oldest monuments in the city. Situated nearby the Dargah Sharif. It is known for its unique construction.
Akbar Fort and Museum - This is the only museum in the city which is especially dedicated to history. It gives a glimpse of the glorious past of India.
