Introduction

About the lake of Ana Sagar
If we consider the Ajmer, a city of nature, which it is, then the artificial lake of Ana Sagar plays a significant role in it. This lake is the glory of the city and civics. This has been glorifying both city and its residents for many years. This lake is very famous not only in the Ajmer but also in the entire state. Even this is listed in the famous lakes in Rajasthan. It attracts hundreds of people every day. You can imagine how popular this lake is by the fact that a lot of tourists especially visit the city for visiting the lake only.
A splendid Chowpatty or Chau-pati surrounds the lake from three sides. The crowd of locals and tourists who visit from far and wide makes this place more bustling, especially during the sunset. You can see some birds are swimming in the lake and some are flying in the sky. The sun is gradually hiding behind the mountains, and some rays are falling on the water that making the entire lake more shining. The southern edge of the lake is surrounded by the lush & grassy garden called Daulat bagh. It is also one of the most famous tourist attractions in the Ajmer. It's often visited by tourists combined with the lake. Taking a tranquil amble around the garden gives utter relaxation. You should definitely do that.
There is a place called Baradari in the garden just adjacent to the lake, it is a pavilion with twelve doors. This is the place where you can easily find a boat. Just hire and take a boat riding. This is one of the best things to do in Ajmer. One of the interesting things that you can observe while there, that the entire city is around you. Being at the center of the city, you will definitely admire its beauty. An island is also situated in the lake, just in the middle of it. You can go there by boat and spend some amazing time with your friends and family, or maybe alone. This is one of the best places to spend some quality time as well. Even you can't afford to miss visiting the island as soon as you reach there because it's so appealing and mesmerizing place.

When we think about natural places, an image comes to mind, which has mountains, lakes, trees, and a place, which is outside the city and far from the people. But this lake, being a natural place, is in the city, and also, not far from the people. You can also find a mountain peak where a very famous temple is situated called Bajrang Garh. You can go there as well.
Location
The lake of Ana Sagar is the most visible tourist attraction. It covers a very large geographical area. Like the other famous places of the Ajmer, it is also easily reachable.
From bus stand to Ana Sagar Lake:- Just hire an Auto for Ana Sagar Lake. You will reach it within a few minutes.
From Railway Station to Ana Sagar Lake:- simply you can hire an auto either for the lake or the Daulat Bagh garden. It won’t take too much time to reach there.
If you are going to Pushkar, you must show some love to the lake because it will appear on the way to Pushkar. We would recommend you to pause your journey and spend some time over there. You surely love that.
This lake is situated amidst the city, therefore, it is called the heart of Ajmer that is why most of the famous hotels and restaurants are located near the lake which you can easily find.
Things to do at Ana Sagar lake
Well, Ana Sagar Lake in combined with Daulat Bagh is the most visited tourist attraction. You can find people indulged in various activities. Here are some.
The first and most famous thing with no doubt is Boating. You can hire a boat from Baradari and go for boat riding. This will surely add a pleasant experience to your memory. Visiting the island as a part of boat riding is an activity, which everyone loves to do.
The other thing which you can go for is Street Food. Indian street foods are famous worldwide, most of them you can find around the lake of Ana Sagar such as Chhole Bhature, Aalu (potato) ki Tikiya, Chaat, and everyone’s favorite, the Gol-Gappe AKA Pani Puri. Ajmer’s street foods are the very famous street food of Rajasthan. You must enjoy this spicy experience.
If you like cycling you can hire a bicycle from Chowpatty. You can take a quick trip from an old Chowpatty to a new one or vice versa. Do not do a complete circle of the lake with a bicycle, it will take a huge time, but if your watch allows, then go for it. It will surely make you fall in love with the city.
You can simply sit on the chair and cherish the charming view of nature, the shining water, chirping birds, and the adorable view of the sunset. Go to Daulat Bagh for a peaceful stroll.
History
To ensure water security for the betterment of the people, initially, a dam was constructed on luni river by the emperor Anaji Chauhan (Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan's Grandfather) in the 12th century (1135 - 1150 AD), which resulted in the Ana Sagar Lake and rightly carries his (Anaji Chauhan) name. The lake of Ana Sagar is one of the earliest lakes in the state of Rajasthan.
In the age of modernization and urbanization, we are gradually disconnecting from nature, although we know the fact that nature is a great healer of any problem and absorber of negativity. So, visit the Ana Sagar lake and reconnect with nature.
