About Pushkar Mela 2026
Pushkar Camel Fair 2026 (Pushkar Mela 2026) takes place from Tuesday, 17 November to Tuesday, 24 November 2026 in the holy town of Pushkar, just 15 km from Ajmer. For eight days the sand dunes around Pushkar fill with decorated camels, Marwari horses, folk artists, traders, travellers and pilgrims.
What began as a cattle and camel trading fair has grown into one of Rajasthan’s biggest cultural festivals. The first half of the mela is all about livestock trading on the dunes, while the second half brings competitions, folk performances and the sacred rituals of Kartik Purnima at Pushkar Lake.
Entry to the fair grounds and the stadium competitions is free, which makes Pushkar Mela one of the most open and colourful festivals in India for both local visitors and international tourists.
