ABOUT US

About Apna Ajmer

A local travel guide to Ajmer and Pushkar, written from Ajmer.

Who we are

Apna Ajmer is a local travel guide to Ajmer and Pushkar in Rajasthan, run from Ajmer by Satish Prajapati and Hardik Sharma. Since 2020 we have been writing guides to the places, food and festivals of our region: from Ajmer Sharif Dargah and Ana Sagar Lake to the Brahma Temple, Pushkar Lake and the Pushkar Fair.

“Apna Ajmer” means “our Ajmer”. Our aim is simple: one clear, honest place to plan a trip here, written from the city itself rather than by a booking site.

What we cover

  • Places to visit: temples, shrines, lakes, forts and museums in Ajmer and Pushkar, with timings, entry fees and how to reach them.
  • Pushkar Fair: dates, schedule and practical tips for the Pushkar Camel Fair every year.
  • Food: Ajmer and Pushkar specialities such as kadhi kachori, sohan halwa and malpua, and where to try them.
  • Travel guides: trip planning, best time to visit and festival guides.

How we write our guides

  • Checked sources: history and facts come from sources such as the Archaeological Survey of India, Incredible India and published histories, and we link to them where it helps.
  • Local knowledge: timings, prices and tips are checked locally wherever we can. When a detail changes often, such as aarti or ropeway times, we say it is approximate.
  • Kept up to date: each guide shows when it was last updated.
  • Respect for every faith: Ajmer and Pushkar are sacred to many communities, and we write about every place of worship with the same care.
  • Independent: we are a guide website, not a travel agency. We do not sell tickets or bookings.

Found a mistake?

If a timing, price or fact on our site is out of date, please tell us through our contact page (choose “Correction to a page”) or send us a DM on Instagram. We fix corrections as quickly as we can.
